Elizabeth Jane

Elizabeth Jane was a very important character that was always the one thaqt didn't know the truth and that probably was hurt the most. She was never spoken with the truth, always lied to and confused with pain. She felt that she was not good enough for what she wanted first Farfrae and then Micheal Henchard. The oddest part is that later on both of these characters are interested in this girl that in the novel grew into a woman. Micheal Henchard wanted to feel affection and comprehension on her behalf hoping to feel forgiveness for his impulses that created pain in his life. Farfrae was not to interested in Elizabeth Jane and later realizes that she is a woman worthy of much more than he had imagined. Elizabeth Jane can be seen as an innocent character that grew as an outcome of the people that surrounded her.
