The Mayor Of Casterbridge was published serially in two different versions in 1886. One of the versions is Graphics, which is the English version. The English version was more revised and changed since according to them it had inappropriate language. The other verion is the American one which came out in the Harpy Weekly. This version was much the original one since the language used was not taken offensively. This story came out during the Victorian period impacting the people with his on going tragedy with his protagonist Micheal Henchard.
